Being in Hawaii is surely the biggest amenity offered at this retirement village, and Regency’s Hualalai location is a few blocks from the beaches and resorts. There is also an outdoor pool and a host of activities and road trips for residents, including music and pet therapies and religious services. Fine dining offers several meal options, and coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day. Regency’s Puakea location isn’t too shabby either.

The Cost Of Senior Living And Care In Sarasota
In the Sarasota area, senior care in general is slightly more expensive than the state average. According to the Genworth 2018 Cost of Care Survey, all types of senior care in Sarasota have a higher average monthly cost than the rest of Florida.

Prices are expected to start in the low $300ks.

Yet what will likely be the deciding factors are the number of services you wish to receive and the monthly rate you wish to pay.

The Retirement Community Must Be In An Area With A Low Crime Rate
Florida has the 39th worst crime rate of the 50 states. Almost every Florida retirement community is a private development that is walled off from the rest of the world, where you must enter through a gate just to get inside. So most of these retirement communities are quite safe when you are inside of the development.
The problem is, youll have to leave that safety for dining, shopping and entertainment, going to the doctor and more. So if a retirement community in located in a city or town with a high crime rate, it wont be considered for our list, with one important exception as youll see below.

Like most cities on the water, Boca Raton has a higher cost of living than the rest of the U.S. Home prices are much higher than the rest of Florida, but health care and utility costs are generally below average. Other indexes like groceries and transportation match the U.S. average.
Boca Raton has a combined sales tax rate of 7 percent, which is similar to most of Florida. Property taxes are higher than average, but there is no state income tax, leaving more room in the budget for entertainment, travel, and dining at Boca Ratons endless bars and restaurants.

How Much Does Assisted Living Cost In Sarasota
The average cost of assisted living in Sarasota is $3,874 a month, which is an increase of roughly 10 percent from the cost in Florida as a whole. In nearby Tampa the cost averages around $600 less per month, which is comparable to other large cities, such as Miami and Orlando.
