Residents of Casta del Sol in Mission Viejo, CA have two beautiful recreation centers at their disposal. Recreation Center One is comprised of four buildings and boasts an array of indoor and outdoor amenities. Indoors, active adults can use the several meeting rooms, relax with a book in the library, discover a new hobby in the arts and crafts rooms, or break a sweat at the gym. For some friendly competition, the center has its own shuffleboard building. It also includes an outdoor pool and spa for enjoying the beautiful Orange County climate.
Recreation Center Two has a more extensive selection of amenities for staying physically active. While also featuring several meeting rooms and handball courts, the impressive amenities at Casta del Sol are mainly located outside. Challenge neighbors to a game on one of two tennis courts before cooling down in the outdoor pool and spa. Residents can also stay fit on the pickle ball courts or pitching range or simply enjoy the great outdoors with a stroll along the walking paths or by tending to your plants in the garden plots.

In the 1980s, a small group of people in the lower Arkansas Valley were ready to move from their own homes, giving up lawn care, snow shoveling, and general upkeep of their property in favor of a retirement setting. By the fall of 1989, land had been purchased. Ground was broken in September of 1991 for the first eight-unit building designed for independent retirement living. With its completion, Piñon, as it became known, saw the first group of pioneers move in during the spring of 1992. The next group of eight-plexes, Cedar, Pine, Spruce, and Juniper were completed in 1993, 1995, and 1998, and Ponderosa was completed in 2001. Our first two duplexes were completed in the fall of 2001.

Casta Del Sol Homes & Real Estate
This gated community was developed between the years 1972 and 1987 specifically for active 55 and better residents. This means homes will feature more traditional floor plans and features, but upgraded homes are available. Most homes feature gorgeous views. The single-family detached houses range in size from approximately 1,200 to 1,900 square feet while single-family attached homes range in size from approximately 1,000 to 1,600 square feet.
This planned retirement community of almost 2,000 residences and consists of mostly single-family, two or three bedroom, one-story unattached homes with one- or two-car garages. Some residences are attached by the garages, and some have two stories with an extra loft, or third bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Association dues are moderate and for all homes include maintenance of the greenbelt areas, security patrol and gate guards, exterior painting every six years, trash pickup and management.

The community has a common area with clubhouse, shuffleboard court, and a heated swimming pool. All are available to homeowners.
The community is governed by HOA covenants and bylaws. A copy of the covenants and bylaws along with member information Is provided to all prospective new owners at a pre purchase meeting prior to the closing. Because of the 55 and older restricted deed new owners are required to fill out a Florida state HUD information form. Homeowners are also required to sign pre purchase agreements stating that they have read and agreed to the covenants and bylaws.
