What Ourresidents Are Saying

I was looking for an active community that felt like home. It was also important to me to have an outside space a door that opened into the hallway and also a door to the outside. When I walked into the first apartment, saw the kitchen and the balcony, I knew it would be my home.

When you consider that you are living among many different personality types, the camaraderie at Brookridge is amazingly good! Betty and I are exceedingly pleased at the quickness with which we were accepted into the community.

Frank and Betty Joiner

We prayed as we searched for a place to spend the rest of our lives. The staff was friendly, helpful, and followed through with every detail. Brookridge provided opportunities that would meet our physical, spiritual, emotional, and fellowship needs. We have maintenance-free living in our home, which gives us more time to do what we like best. It was financially affordable. Our children were impressed with the facility. After almost four years, we have never regretted our decision.

Cresswind Wesley Chapel NC 55 Active Adult [near Charlotte]
  • Faithful Christians understand that important role their house of worships plays in helping them live their faith. It is far more than just Sunday services. This is the center of the faithful community with people gather to support each other as every member of the church works to build their own personal relationship with God. This is also where a real sense of community is developed. The activities that bring people together, before and after services extend Gods reach. The chapel in a Christian assisted living center plays this same critical role. It must be a dedicated space, always available to residents in need and always ready to welcome the community in faithful activities.
  • Pastors are another key to building a faithful and tightknit community. They actively guide, teach and support members of the community on their journey in faith. This is a fulltime role, especially in an assisted living environment where challenges of aging bring pressure on faith, and can sow doubt. The right minister can help each member of their flock face these challenges in strength. Seniors should get to know these ministers before deciding on any one Christian assisted living facility.

Best Places To Retire In North Carolina

North Carolina has become one of the best retirement states in recent years. While the state has always had plenty to offer, one of its biggest advantages for retirees is that it can essentially serve as a middle ground between more extreme retirement destinations.

Florida and Arizona may be the most popular spots, but they are paired with extreme heat, virtually nonexistent seasons and are as far away as can be from the Northeast or Midwest where many retirees come from.

North Carolina offers mild weather and beautiful seasons while also keeping older adults closer to the communities they came from, offering a more pleasing retirement life. The state is also far from just mountain ranges and includes some vibrant, fast-growing metropolises.
