My time at Deer Meadows Retirement Community has been absolutely wonderful! They have such a concern for their residents and go above and beyond the norm. I feel so secure and at home here. Thank you for making my new home such a beautiful place to live.

The staff is very friendly and genuinely concerned about residents care and services. The food is excellent, we joke that its the reason we come visit Mom. Mom loves all of the ongoing events & activities. We are so pleased to have our mother as a resident of Deer Meadows Retirement Community. We know she is well taken care of and will continue to have quality of life.

Overall, the experience has been very pleasant from the time my loved one walked in the door. He has been there for several months now. The only things I have seen that warranted ratings less than a 5 are he’s supposed to be getting a shower twice a week, and sometimes when they’re understaffed, they miss a day and don’t go back to follow up. Sometimes with maintenance issues, I have to escalate beyond the initial work request. Meals are hit or miss with him Some things are very good, some things aren’t. And I know that depends on each induvial person’s tastes. The facility is always clean. Everybody there is super friendly. My dad never complains about any of his experiences with the staff. He is on personal care level one, so they check in on him every hour or two. For the most part he’s a pleasant person but like everyone can be grumpy every once in a while. They’ve very patient and roll with the punches. He decided to use their doctor services and has been very happy with that, and so have I.

Deer Meadows is a terrible place for your loved ones. My mother was in there for short term rehab and it was horrible. First, they had her in a room that was 82 degrees. Then, they placed her in a room that smelled like urine. Mom left with an infection and bed sores. Avoid Deer Meadows!

This was a nice community and the community fee was more in our budget. They also have outings for the residents to go on.

Bankruptcy Judge Impatient In Deer Meadows Case

A bankruptcy judge in Philadelphia showed a trace of impatience with creditors of Deer Meadows Retirement Community at a hearing Wednesday.

A bankruptcy judge in Philadelphia showed a trace of impatience with creditors of Deer Meadows Retirement Community at a hearing Wednesday.

“I really expect there to be a settlement here, from the facts that I’ve heard,” said Chief Judge Eric L. Frank after a session that included an hour-long recess punctuated by testy exchanges among lawyers.

“I find it astounding that there is no agreement on this,” he continued, before scheduling another hearing in the case Monday.

Specifically, Frank was referring to the conditions under which Deer Meadows, where nearly 500 elderly live, including many in a nursing home, is allowed to spend cash that also functions as collateral for lenders.

The longer-term fight in the Deer Meadows bankruptcy is over whether there will be a quick auction – most likely to a for-profit company – or a restructuring that could allow the 145-year-old organization that took on too much debt at the wrong time to continue as an independent institution.

Deer Meadows, with three connected buildings on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia, filed for bankruptcy protection on April 25 after receiving a foreclosure threat in March from bondholders owed $23 million.

A sale is expected to bring significantly more.

“Today is a different story,” he said.

I had a good experience working here. Welcomed warmly. When I had concerns about on call territory felt a bit misunderstood. I would recommend this company for others seeking home Health Care jobs in NE Philadephia. Need to be upfront in beginning of On call territory is not for you.

My day includes things like servicing visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately while notifying company personnel of visitor arrival. I’ve learned that experience comes with age. I do enjoy the time spent at Deer Meadows. I see a blended diversity as I walk the halls of Deer Meadows. People for difference places and backgrounds. I found the hardest part of the job was getting to know someone and knowing their being transferred to another facility. But the best part of the job, was getting to know the residents. A resident could on for hours just telling different life stories. I could just listen to them all.
